 Plastics & Packaging M&A Quarterly

Q1 2010

While 2009 was a challenging year for M&A in the Plastics and Packaging industry, heightened transaction activity experienced at the end of the year generated momentum that has led to some optimism for M&A in 2010. Our research shows 94 transactions globally in the Plastics and Packaging industry during Q1 2010 compared to 77 during Q1 2009, a 22% increase with a noteworthy change in mix from distressed to quality deals. Although the economy is far from a full recovery, visibility into the near and long term outlook has transformed significantly from 12 to 18 months ago with an overall cautious, but positive consensus.
